Milk and Show...wins for us...will win for you

We strongly believe that form follows function. We breed for a functional dairy goat that earns her keep in the milk pail and is conformationally correct. To maintain a year--round supply of milk we try to breed and freshen our does over a long season. Our kidding season begins in early winter and extends as late into the summer or fall as the goats will breed into the spring.

Since we have participated in DHIA, beginning in 1998, our does have been listed in the Top-Ten for milk production every year earning a total of 82 listings in AGS from 1998 through 2006 and 6 in ADGA since 2006. Our does hold several records: Uni broke the receord for milk produced on a 305 day lactation in 2003 with 1601#, and held that record for three years. She also holds the record for highest lifetime production with well over 8500# of milk. Honey has the longest extended lactation of 634 days in milk and 2194#. Eclipse is the oldest Nigerian on test at age 13. Please see the milk records of the individual does in their biographies.

We show as heavilly as our schedule allows. We have attended five AGS National shows and done very well.
In 1997 in NY our famous herd sire, ARMCH Goodwood Tom Thumb +*S was chosen National Champion Buck.
In 2000 in NC Tom, again garnered that National Champion Buck honor as well as our ARMCH Goodwood Water LIlly 2*D who came home with National Champion Doe and Best Udder.
In 2003 in OH five of the eight first place winners in the Sr doe line up were Rosasharn, though we were not chosen. Water Lilly and Tom's daughter, Lot-a-Lilly was chosen National Youth Champion.
In 2005 in MA our own ARMCH Rosasharn Eclipse 2*D was chosen National Champion Sr. Doe, R. Bit-a-Lilly, another Water Lilly/Tom daughter, was chosen Reserve National Champion and R. Witch Hazel was chosen Best Udder. Lot-a-Lilly was again chosen National Youth Sr. Champion and R. Milky Way was chosen National Youth Jr Champion.
In 2007 in VA we brought home AGS National Champion Sr. Doe and Best Udder with Eclipse's daughter Buckwheat Honey, National Youth Sr. Champion with R. Mariposa, and Reserve National Youth Jr. Champion with R. California Twirl.
We have won a total of 14 National titles!

We have been working for many years developing our herd from original foundations in Goodwood and Stonewall lines. We have used a line breeding program to produce consistency in type and our own unique style. Our does are the foundation for this, each one is special and brings something slightly different into our breeding program, yet all remain within the same dairy, correct style that we breed for. ARMCH Tom Thumb was the first corner stone of the herd; you can see that all our Rosasharn stock trace back to him. We are pleased to say that Tiger has proven to be the second corner stone and our young bucks also seem to be following in their hoof prints, leaving their positive influence on our herd. For a doe to remain in our herd she has not only to succeed in the show ring, she has to produce well on DHI, in the milk pail too. To ease your study of our does we have divided them according to whether they have freshened (delivered) before which makes them "Senior", or not leaving them "Junior". We are happy to answer any questions you may have, just "contact us". Enjoy your read!
